Research the hair extension method to make sure it is the right method for your hair type. If you hair is damaged to start with, you should keep in mind that human hair is very heavy. The weight of the hair extensions could pull out already damaged or stressed hair. Synthetic hair weighs about 1/3 the weight of human hair and is a great alternative to human hair. Some hair extension methods are designed specifically for damaged or thinning hair. Find out about all the different methods before you decide on one. Make sure the stylist that does your hair extensions is properly trained and/or certified to attach and remove extensions. Improper attachment or removal can result in severe hair damage.
